Chugach Powder Guides – Girdwood

Chugach Powder Guides – Girdwood

In the heart of the Western Chugach Mountains, the magic of huge coastal, glaciated peaks awaits with their deep powder, inspiring steeps and colossal vertical relief. Drop into mild powder bowls overlooking the Pacific, arc through acres of tall Hemlock and Sitka Spruce, dance across steep spines and couloirs – and never ski the same line twice with Chugach Powder Guides.

Partnered with Alyeska Resort, all of this adventure is just 45 miles from Anchorage, making this the most accessible heliskiing destination in Alaska. Throw in a world class resort and 100s of acres of catskiing terrain for down days, and there is no question why CPG stands out among its peers.

The Heliskiing

With a single operator in this immense area it is nearly impossible to exhaust all the powder between snowfalls. Ski runs on glaciers and in the alpine zones are endless and pioneering a new line is always a possibility. Ski lines from elevations around 6,500 feet to sea level. Ski locations can vary on a daily basis due to weather and snowpack stability, as well as the strength, experience and desires of our guests. As conditions allow, we move from quintessential runs to aggressive, big mountain lines.

With 750,000 acres of heli-ski terrain, 4 helicopters, 2 snowcats, and Alyeska Resort, the base in Girdwood offers the “best bet” for every-day powder skiing on the planet.
