Kachemak Bay, Alaska
Tutka Bay Lodge sits at the entrance to a stunningly rugged seven-mile fjord at the southern end of Kachemak Bay, near Homer, Alaska. The Tutka Bay area offers rugged coastlines, deep fjords, dramatic mountains, quiet beaches, old growth Sitka Spruce forests and amazing tidal fluctuations.
Situated on an eleven-acre property, Tutka Bay Lodge offers a main lodge, six private guest accommodations, a sauna, hot tub and boat house- all connected by boardwalk. The large deck offers seating as well as access for helicopter landings.
Upon your arrival to the lodge by boat at their exclusive and protected cove, head up past the main deck and hot tub to the main lodge. It is there that you’ll find Chef/Owner Kirsten Dixon and her staff preparing guest meals, utilizing fresh local and Alaskan ingredients. Fresh Alaska salmon & oysters is brought to the dock each week by neighboring fishermen. You can sport fish from the dock or go clamming on the beach and the lodge’s staff will gladly prepare your harvest!
Tutka Bay Lodge offers a full compliment of guided activities during your stay. Each day your guide personalizes your schedule to meet your interests. Options include: wildlife viewing for both terrestrial and marine mammals, beachcombing, hiking on private trails through old-growth forest, kayaking, fishing & clamming, or just relaxing in the solitude provided by Tutka Bay Lodge’s remote location. Fly-out bear viewing and halibut fishing are included with 2 night packages.
