The Chilkat Valley in Haines, Alaska is unique because it stretches across many miles of mountainous terrain. Heli-skiable terrain begins at saltwater and ends at the Canadian border 40 miles up valley. This creates 5 different micro climates in the region which provide many different heliskiing options for weather, snow, wind events, and avalanche conditions. This gives your guides the ability to find the goods consistently and the sun pops out somewhere just about every day.

We work with two operators in the valley, selecting the operator that best fits your interests. Huge terrain and first descents are the rule when heliskiing in Haines. Come experience it for yourself.

The Heliskiing

A 1,200 square mile mountain wonderland is waiting in Haines, Alaska. From steep, spine lines to scenic pow runs, Haines holds something for everyone. As your guides gain confidence in your abilities, expect to be challenged by lines of over 5,000 vertical feet. Sense of scale is lost in this region of endless powder possibilities.

Haines Lodging & Operations

There are multiple operation bases spread throughout the valley, providing ample opportunity to take advantage of the region’s micro-climates. Expect your experience in Haines to be a melting pot of professional skiers and snowboarders, film crews and freeriders. A-Star helicopters are utilized and a 4 or 5 client to 1 guide ratio is used throughout the season.

Packages include lodging at one of our local hotels or bed and breakfasts. All-inclusive & private packages can also be arranged including all meals, transportation and lodging.
