Since your guides flew their first guests in 1991 they have been dynamically improving the heli skiing experience in British Columbia. While they have been innovative in their approach, they have always kept one simple goal in mind: To show you a good time.

The base at Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, on the shores of Beautiful Tyaughton lake, is approximately 125 miles north of Vancouver, British Columbia. They operate in the South Chilcotin Mountains which is the transition zone between the Coastal Mountains and the dry rolling Frasier Plateau. You will experience the best of both worlds- magnificent mountains, an abundance of dry powder snow and plenty of sunshine.

The Heliskiing

To date TLH has in excess of 375 named and mapped runs in an area of 830,000 acres (200 times greater than Vail!). Experience the advantage of skiing or boarding with only one group per helicopter- That means almost no waiting for the helicopter and the ability to ski and board at your pace.

Annual snowfall in the region varies between 16 – 80 feet, with an average snow pack of 5 feet in the east to about 25 feet in places out west. The areas more commonly skiied average 7 – 12 feet of settled snow. The best skiing conditions require an abundance of dry snow, and TLH’s seasoned guides know where all the best stashes are hiding.

TLH Lodging & Operations

Accommodations are at the recently renovated Tyax Mountain Lake Resort, an impressive log lodge located on the shores of Tyaughton Lake. You will find a cozy atmosphere with accommodation in spacious double or single rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. Enjoy a Jacuzzi/hot tub, sauna or massage from their resident masseuse. You will be treated to diverse and appetizing menu options throughout your stay in this remote wilderness setting.

Signature Heli-Ski Packages join 10 guests with 2 guides in a Bell 212 helicopter.

Small Group Heli-Skiing Packages are a semi-private experience with only 4 guests and 2 guides in a Bell 407 helicopter or A-Star 350 B2.

Private Platinum Packages feature exclusivity through every portion of the package. Indulge in the pampering and attention of your own private team, including a concierge, massage therapist, chef, pilot, and guides, while residing in your own private chalet, and flying in your own private helicopter. Choose to ski with 10 guests and 2 guides in a Bell 212 helicopter or 4 guests and 2 guides in a Bell 407 helicopter.
