Alaska, Inside Passage, Ketchikan, Misty Fjords, Petersburg
May to Sept
The Sumdum is not simply a charter yacht designed for sunnier climes, then transported to Alaska. Rather, it is engineered for comfort in a climate subject to rapid and unexpected changes and the negotiation of the demanding waters in the region.
The 80-foot yacht was completed in 1987 by seasoned builder Tom Nelson of Seattle. Based on a sound knowledge of conditions in Alaskan coastal areas, the owner and builder have incorporated structural specifications, engineered systems and materials which customize the craft for exceptional safety and comfort.
All Alaska yacht charters aboard the Sumdum are fully customized to your interests. The captain and crew utilize their knowledge of the Inside Passage to meet your objectives and goals. Most trips are action oriented including: fishing, crabbing, shrimping, beach combing, hiking, photography and kayaking. Short amounts of time are spent cruising, primarily to get to a new area for your next activity. Experience this untouched wilderness in its primitive form and dine on nature’s daily bounty of fresh caught seafood.
Captain Bob Widness is a USCG Master 1600 Ton Captain. His wife Ann operates as chef and crew, with their daughter, Treva, as First Mate.
