Alaska, Inside Passage, Juneau, Sitka, Tongass National Forest
May to September
There is no “typical” cruise aboard the Liseron or her sister ship the Mist Cove; each is unique. There character is defined by the passengers’ personal curiosities and interests, combined with the wonderful variety of experiences available in Southeast Alaska. For over a quarter of a century these vessels have been exploring the waters of Southeast Alaska on conservation tours.
The 20-passenger Liseron was originally launched in the 1950’s as a minesweeper. This beautiful and sturdy wooden boat, constructed to withstand underwater explosions, was painstakingly converted, upgraded and is now lovingly maintained.
Each day you will have opportunity to participate in an abundance of activities. The crew offers fishing, shoreline walks with trained naturalists, early morning and late evening kayak adventures, wildlife and glacier viewing, and everything from leisurely beach combing or gentle strolls to vigorous hikes through virgin rainforests. Of course, it’s OK to curl up with a good book in the salon or on deck and just savor the view.
The trips are designed to let you explore the wilderness while at the same time ensuring a comfortable stateroom with private bath, gourmet meals and good wine at dinner. By personally introducing you to this special place, the crew knows you will come away sharing their commitment to conserving and preserving one of the earth’s last great wild and beautiful places.
The foundation that owns MV Liseron is a tax-exempt organization that provides recreational and educational experiences for its passengers. Because of our continuing work to conserve/preserve the forest, wildlife, and fisheries in the area we operate in, some portion of the cost of your trip may be tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
Motor Vessel LISERON was built in 1952 in Seattle, sold to France as a minesweeper, and was acquired and lovingly restored in 1989. She is 145 feet long and 28 feet wide with a draft of 8.5 feet.
Prices vary dependent upon single/double occupancy, time of year and number of passengers. Southeast Alaska wilderness adventures aboard the Liseron are 8 days / 7 nights long starting and ending on Saturdays.
