M/Y Elysium is a 55-foot private Alaska charter yacht based in Sitka, Alaska and is the mothership of Elysium Expeditions; a family run operation that offers all-inclusive private excursions throughout Southeast Alaska. Every trip on the Elysium is tailored to the interests of our guests, creating a personalized, immersive experience in Alaskan paradise.

In Greek mythology, Elysium is a place of absolute contentment. In that spirit, life aboard Elysium is about slowing down and truly soaking in the beauty of Southeast Alaska. As a guest aboard the Elysium you’ll spend your days watching whales surface beside the boat, hiking rainforest trails, paddling quiet coves, exploring remote beaches, fishing for salmon, and sharing delicious meals made just for you and your people.

Elysium features 3 staterooms, 2 heads, and accommodations for up to 6 guests. Our small group size allows for thoughtfully planned itineraries and personalized experiences, creating adventures that are intentional and filled with unforgettable moments.

Captain and Crew

Elysium Expeditions is owned and operated by Sitka locals Dustin and Lydia Hack. Together, they bring a deep admiration for Southeast Alaska along with decades of hands-on experience on the water, in the forest, and in remote coastal environments.

Captain Dustin is a seasoned mariner with a background in commercial fishing, vessel operations, heavy civil construction, and wilderness travel throughout Southeast Alaska. Mechanically inclined and highly attentive to detail, he brings a calm, confident presence on the water and ensures safe, smooth operations. He’s also a natural storyteller, with plenty of local tales to share as the scenery drifts by.

Lydia leads guest hospitality, trip planning, and onboard meals, along with the many behind-the-scenes details that keep each expedition running smoothly. She creates an experience that feels both relaxed and intentional. With a background in therapy and a deep love for people and the wildness of Alaska, she brings a grounded, thoughtful presence to life aboard Elysium.

Their 12-year-old twin daughters are also part of life aboard Elysium, serving as junior deckhands. They bring local knowledge, stories of growing up on a boat, and genuine excitement for all Southeast has to offer. When families are onboard, they naturally help keep younger kids engaged and entertained, giving parents a little extra space to relax and enjoy their time on the water.
