An exclusive 7 day backcountry ski trip deep in the heart of Denali National Park! Access to the south side of Denali is by bush skiplane. You’ll spend 5 nights winter camping at a comfortable basecamp within the Denali wilderness combined with 5 full days of skiing in the mountains above Ruth Glacier.

In April of 2013, Alaska Alpine Adventures’ guides Dan Oberlatz & Bryan Caenepeel spent a week exploring this amazing area of Denali National Park on skis. They enjoyed phenomenal weather and ended up completing a full reconnaissance of this incredible region of Denali.

The greatest features of skiing in this zone include low elevation, ample snow, tons of non-glaciated and manageable ski terrain, and remarkably close proximity, at 17 miles, to the summit of Mt. McKinley.
